Robyn Zwar is a graphic designer and enthusiastic travel photographer based in Melbourne, Australia.
In 1991 at the age of 22, Robyn headed to London with her backpack, a Sony Walkman cassette player, her SLR Minolta camera and 12 rolls of Fujichrome slide film.
Robyn’s love of travel and photography was cemented during this four year European sojourn.
Over the following decades, in between lecturing and running a boutique graphic design agency in Melbourne, Robyn has continued to travel and photograph the colours, textures, patterns and details that catch her “designer’s eye”.
Robyn estimates she has taken around 4000 transparencies (slides) and 3000 digital images across many countries and over many years.
Through “Zwar Art”, Robyn combines her photographs and design skills to create artworks that celebrate the imperfect beauty of age-worn subjects, both heroic and humble.
